We are pleased to announce the fifth annual EVM Europe conference for continental Europe: EVM Europe 2013. EVM Europe is an organization that brings practitioners and researchers together to share new ideas, to stimulate innovative research and to advance the state-of-the-art and best practices on project control. The fifth event will take place in Ghent (Belgium) in collaboration with Ghent University and Vlerick Business School on December 3-4, 2013. Both days will consist of a mix of research and practitioner presentations and a keynote speech. The theme of the conference is Integrated Project Controls.

This letter serves as a call for speakers and/or attendees for the anniversary edition EVM Europe 2013.

Attendees

Attendees can register on the website for a single day or for the full two days. All full conference registrations include entry to all conference sessions, morning and afternoon tea breaks and lunches. An optional evening dinner can be added as an ideal network opportunity. Both practical and academic presentations are welcome! Students, speakers and partners (members of PMI Belgium) can register at reduced rates.

Speakers

Speakers can submit short or extended abstracts (see conference website). All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings (USB or booklet). The deadline for submitting your abstracts is October 31, 2013. For those papers accepted on the basis of the extended abstract, a possibility to submit a full paper will be evaluated by the organizing committee. Abstract templates and publication guidelines are available on www.evm-europe.eu/call_for_abstracts.

Keynotes

In this 5th edition, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Earned Schedule with Walt Lipke, founder and father of Earned Schedule, and we will also show that this has led to the collaboration between the USA and Europe as will be explained by board member Stephan Vandevoorde.

·       Walt Lipke: Ten Years after Earned Schedule - The American Experience (with the help of Europe)

·       Stephan Vandevoorde: Time Forecasting using Earned Schedule - The European Experience (with the help of the US)

Special session

This year, we organize a special session with only young people. Various award winning Master Students of the Faculty of Economics from Ghent University and 4 PhD students working on the million euro research project will join us in a special session on Young Researchers in Project Management and Control to share their novel work with you!
